5/29/18 Fishing Report

Here’s your latest fishing report from Captain Tim “Wingnut” Hill on beautiful Lake of the Woods:

The start of open water fishing around Rocky Point has picked up in the past week. Water temperatures are on the rise. The weather has been insanely nice and the fish are becoming more active. Jigging on the drop offs on reefs and rocky points are doing well with lots of bigger walleye being released every day.

The shoreline bite is picking up as well. We are anywhere from 8′ to 16′ of water with spinners or cranks. Baits of choice are live minnows, leeches and sometimes frozen shiners.

In the past few days, my groups have released at least one walleye over 28 inches, the biggest being 30 1/2″. Best of luck!
