1/6/23 Fishing Report

Here’s your latest fishing report from Captain Nick Dejno on beautiful Lake of the Woods. We’re fishing at all the major reefs around Rocky Point, except for Archie’s Reef. On average the ice thickness is about 21-22″, but we are still seeing a few spots with 18″. Overall, fishing has been good for my groups. We have seen that 28-32 ft. has been the best for depth so far, but there hasn’t been much of a morning bite. We’re seeing that the bite does pick up from 10:30am to 2pm. My go-to set up for the jigging rod is using a buckshot with just the minnow head. For the dead stick, I prefer to use a plain red hook with a split shot 2-4″ off the bottom. Good luck out there and Happy New Year.
