3/14/19 Fishing Report

Here’s your latest fishing report from Captain Tim “Wingnut” Hill on beautiful Lake of the Woods.

The bite has picked up with warmer weather. Fish are returning to reefs and points with many of them suspended off the bottom, so if you see a mark high up on your graph, you need to go for it. 27-32′ is the magic depth in most areas. We continue to work deep edges of the reefs and shoreline. Red and pink are the lucky colors. Switching to orange/chartreuse/blue helps to get the fish to bite. Try a plain painted hook with split shot on the dead stick. We are seeing a lot more slot fish over 19.5″ with some at the 30″+ size. All fish are very healthy. We are also seeing northern pike and perch picking up. Best of luck!
