3/6/25 Fishing Report
Here’s our latest fishing report from Captain Zach on beautiful Lake of the Woods!
Ice fishing is still going strong around Rocky Point. We have houses anywhere from 2-8 miles out. The ice sheet is in good shape and we have about 36 inches. Fishing on the reefs continues to be “day-to-day” with most houses getting small runs of keepers in the morning, and picking away as the afternoon comes around. Houses on the flats are having similar experiences with pods of fish coming in and out throughout the day.Â
Pike fishing is in full swing with customers catching numbers of pike anywhere between 9-13 feet of water using suckers, frozen alewife and smelt. Putting baits 1 foot under the ice or right off bottom seems to be effective. Hot colors this week are pink, white, gold, chartreuse and glow, as well as plain red hooks. Good luck! ~ Captain Zach
