3/10/17 Fishing Report

Fishing is steady in spite of this week’s wild weather. We had two days of white out conditions and winds raging up to 55 miles per hour. Lack of snow sticking to the ice made for serious house banking issues. Concerns were that this particular front would completely shut down the fishing, but it has not been the case.
Groups are still coming in with nice fish and some with limits. A plain red hook tipped with a minnow did well for some, and the gold colors are also doing well.
We are running our light equipment because the lack of snow on the ice has caused our big rigs to have mechanical issues. We still have a strong 30 inches of ice, so that hasn’t been a factor with the late season fishing. We pulled our houses off 16 Mile Reef yesterday, as the distance is too far when we run the light equipment. We are still fishing at all the other major reef areas.
There are only a few more weeks for this ice fishing season. We wish you the best of luck!
