2/12/19 Fishing Report

Here’s your latest fishing report from Captain Brett “Slim” Janicke on Lake of the Woods!
The bite has been spotty over the past week. We are on the move chasing down fish. Cold fronts and east winds are keeping our fleet of houses on the move. We are covering depths along the reefs in 28-35 ft. and 26-36 ft. in the flats, with our sleeper houses staged in 27-30 ft. The lucky colors are glow pink, red, white, using spoons, Lindy Flyers, buckshots, Macho Minnows, jigging raps, etc. with graphs. A plain red or green hook has been working on the deadstick. This year has shown a booming hatch of smaller fish. I haven’t seen the amount of small fish (hatch) since 2008. Electronics are highly recommended. We are seeing a high number of fish on the graphs. Be patient, keep throwing different set-ups at them, sooner or later they will bite! Good luck out there!
