Fishing Report 1/23/16

The end of the week is ending up all smiles, especially for the sleeper houses.
Brad Christensen and Mary Madden of Rochester, MN, caught at least 100 fish from their sleeper on Cooker’s Reef. The largest walleye for them was 18″ with the average size about 15″. The perch they caught were all around 14″ while the saugers averaged 16″. Brad and Mary reported their favorite lures were the Demons: red glow, pink glow, white glow and gold.
Bob Olson and Dave Hovet of Grand Rapids, MN, caught 83 fish during their sleeper stay. Their largest walleye was 16″ and their largest sauger was 16.5″. The 10 perch they caught were jumbos. Dead stick worked best for Bob, with anything red on the end: red plain hook, red Cat Eye or red Gemini. Dave used crappie jigs with silver and green with an orange lightning streak down the side. They fished 6-12″ off the bottom with the help of electronics. They said electronics were the way to go.
The warmer weather seems to have livened things up. Best of luck out there!
