Fishing Report 2/8/13

Fishing at Rocky Point has been fair. Guides are moving houses each day to try to stay on top of the fish. Patience and jigging are the keys to success. The tackle that seems to work the best are the pieces that rattle when it moves. Their are lots of smaller fish, right on the bottom. The Vexilar is looking like an essential piece of equipment this year.
The Eberspacher group recently stayed in one of our overnight fish houses and said their key to success was to jig the line from bottom back up to 8 ft. off the bottom, then set it back down to about 2-4 ft. off the bottom. Rick Eberspacher had success with the Rattl’ N Flyer jigs that were tipped off with a minnow head. Their group was in 29 ft. of water. They caught some nice slot fish at 23, 20 and 19 inches and a total of 17 saugers along with perch, walleye and northern.
Keep jigging!
