Here’s our latest fishing report and ice update from beautiful Lake of the Woods. Our ice fishing season has begun at Rocky Point! Captain Jon Head and the ice team have been out scouting locations for the past week. The areas we are fishing have approximately 10″ of ice. Our fish houses are staged between Cooker’s Reef and Gull Rock Reef. We will move further out as we gain more ice with the cold temperatures ahead. Captain Cole Buley reported the first day of fishing was good between 24-29 ft. Cole recommends trying a minnow head on your jigging rod and full bait with a small lure on the dead stick.

As always with early ice, we advise extreme caution and highly recommend fishing with a resort/outfitter this time of year. Check back for our weekly fishing reports by our outstanding ice team.
