12/20/25 Ice Update & Fishing Report
Here’s our latest ice update and fishing report from Captain Cole Buley on beautiful Lake of the Woods!
It’s been an exciting start to our ice fishing season! We’re not quite to all of our usual fishing areas yet, but we’ll be steadily working our way there in the coming days. We’ve been battling blizzard conditions and high winds making travel to our fishing spots slower than we’d like. But, on the upside, the ice is looking good and strong; we’re just waiting for Mother Nature to relax so we can get further out on the lake. As of today, our houses are staged in two big areas at Cooker’s Reef and Twin Island. The bite has been good and will only improve as our fishing area grows larger. My favorite winter colors are pink, gold and Wonderbread, but it’s important to have a variety in your tackle box and change set-ups to bring in the fish. We’re getting our sleeper fish houses ready to welcome guests, with the season hopefully kicking off after Christmas. I look forward to seeing you and some tight lines. ~ Captain Cole
