6/1/23 Fishing Report

6-1-23 Fishing Report

Here’s your latest fishing report from Captain Tim “Wingnut” Hill on beautiful Lake of the Woods.
We’re starting off with another good year of open water fishing. Water temperatures are rising and the bite is on. We’re mostly jigging in 21-27 ft. off points and reefs. Frozen shiners and live minnows are the preferred bait. 3/8 oz. jigs are what’s mostly being used. Keep vertical and tight to the bottom. I’m seeing a nice mixed bag with saugers, walleye and jumbo perch with the occasional pike and there’s always a chance of a trophy fish. Good luck!
