Fishing Report 12/27/19

Here’s your latest fishing report from Captain Tim “Wingnut” Hill and Captain Brett “Slim” Janicke:
Fishing has been very consistent around Rocky Point. The preferred method is changing day to day from the dead stick to the jigging rod. Electronics are very important! Try a buckshot, macho minnow, or rip-n-rap tipped with a minnow head. Pay attention to whichever is doing better and adjust to the fish’s reaction; they may switch to liking one or the other more than once per day. Our shoreline break houses are staged in 23-27 ft of water. Our reef houses are staged from 26-32 ft. depending on the reef. The sauger bite has been strong with walleye mixed in plus some slot fish in our areas. Glow red, white and the UV colors have been very good on the jigging rod and dead stick. Remember to glow them up and don’t be afraid to change things up if a certain jig goes dead on you. Best of luck out there!
