Fishing Report 12/20/19

Our ice fishing season is underway! We are fishing west of Rocky Point, as well as at Lambertson’s Rock and Twin Islands anywhere from 23-28 feet of water. The bite has been good so far. Guests are catching lots of little fish and we’ve seen some slot fish being released. Captain Ed Albrecht says the Red Lindy Flyer is working well for his groups. We are fishing in areas with 13-16″ of ice. Captain Cole Buley reports that pink and gold and green and gold are the hot color combinations right now. The colder temperatures will allow us to start moving toward the reefs and north of Rocky Point. As always, we advise extreme caution if you are fishing on your own. We have found anywhere from 4″-16″ of ice doing our checks. Please stick with an outfitter or resort this time of year. Best of luck!

During ice fishing season, customers are comfortably transported to our heated fish houses with track vehicles that are equipped with positive floatation and global positioning systems.  Our experienced guides use the LakeMaster MCC GPS chip to position the fish houses on exactly the right spot. Arnesen’s Rocky Point is located next to a wide variety of bottom structure and the winter guides move the fish houses constantly to keep our customers on fish. Fish houses are heated with safe and convenient gas wall units with two holes available per person. With the fish houses, all the bait is included. You are responsible for your own tackle and poles. We also have sleeper fish houses for those that don’t want to leave the ice!
