In October, a group of stakeholders from the Lake of the Woods area came together to create a campaign to preserve The Walleye Capital of the World for years to come. Keep It Clean is an organization which was created to promote a clean Lake of the Woods.
The Keep It Clean Group has organized and is requesting volunteers to assist in the Lake of the Woods “Clean Up Day” on Saturday, April 6th. The purpose of this day is one final sweep of the ice to remove any remaining trash, rubbish, wood and associated garbage left on the ice after the permanent fish houses have been removed.
Volunteers will be on hand from 7am – 10am at ice road locations to hand out garbage bags. Dumpsters for the garbage are located at each location. The locations in which garbage bags will be distributed are:
-Adrian’s Ice Road Access
-Cyrus Resort
-Morris Point
-Zippel Bay Resort
-Long Point Resort
-Babbler’s Road
-Swift Ditch
-City of Warroad
-Warroad Estates
-Springsteel Resort
Please come out and do your part in keeping Lake of the Woods clean. To volunteer, please call 218‐634‐1842 ext #3 (or 218‐230‐3582 on April 6th).
