Minnesota’s Opening Fishing weekend has finally arrived! Saturday, May 14 officially marks the walleye opener so we asked one of your favorite guides, Captain Tim “Wingnut” Hill, what the key to success will be. He reports, “It should be a great opener as the water temperatures are climbing. The fish will be on the edge of the many small reefs and also Twin Island. If you’re fishing this time of year, stay vertical and slow with minnows or shiners. Jigging is best. See you out there!”
