3/1/24 Fishing Report

Here’s our latest fishing report from Captain Cole Buley on beautiful Lake of the Woods!

Ice conditions are steady around Rocky Point. On average, we’re seeing around 24″ of ice where our fish houses are staged. We are still off the reefs a bit fishing in the mud. With that, the early morning and late evening bite seems to be when most fish are active instead of chasing the bait like we’ve been seeing mid-day. Colors vary on the day, so bring a variety of hooks to cycle through to find out what’s working best that day. We’re also starting to see some pike stage up in the shallows, but not quite full-swing yet. Once we see consistent warmer temperatures, pike fishing should really start to get good. Also, don’t forget that new a new MN fishing license is required as of today, March 1st. I look forward to seeing you out on the ice! ~ Captain Cole
