3/8/24 Fishing Report

3/8/24 Fishing Report

Here’s our latest fishing report from Captain Joey on beautiful Lake of the Woods!

The colder temperatures at night are keeping our ice sheet in good shape and conditions are steady around Rocky Point. As we head into the middle of March, we’re still seeing a really good bite on LOW. Bigger numbers of walleye, perch and sauger are still being caught in the mud just off the reefs using smaller jigs on dead sticks and medium or 1/8 oz. variety of rattle spoons, all in deeper water (mostly 27-31 ft.). Early morning hours and a good late evening bite is still the pattern we are seeing. We have started northern pike fishing and have day houses coupled with sleeper houses in the shallows around 8-14 ft. of water. The pike bite is not just yet in full swing, though we are seeing a great number of northern pike being caught and our early season guests have pulled up some monster trophy fish already.
Have a grateful day! ~ Captain Joey
